Have used chicken wire for over 15 yrs. with no problems.
I've made many targets and some of the best, longest lasting targets I have made have been with chicken wire. Use 2x12's and Build any size frame you want. Put the chicken wire on the front and back then pack old clothing in to it. When done you can pin any target you want to it. I'v never had a problem with wire (chicken wire) damaging my arrows
I used plastic chicken wire on my target and it works pretty good. It
doesn't last as long as the metal wire, but it is a lot easier on
arrows. I have to replace the
:elch:No arrow damage ,your tips are made out of STEAL, as to wet
clothing you need it in a covered area or put a roof on it. When I build
them I go to a bedding store and look by the dumpster for the very
large bags that mattresses come in (most stores are happy to get rid of
the bags ) I put 2 in as liners and fill the bags in the frame .the
lower 6 inches with plastic and the top 6 inches all the rest with tea
shirts and the like (remove all zippers& buttons and don't use
jeans) I also add old carpet to the back as added support. use burlap
from the garden center for facing:archer:plastic wire on my target about twice a
year and I shoot a lot.~$2.48
International target archery competitions feature archers using recurve and compound bows.
Archers in both competition categories shoot at the traditional five-colour target face with 10 concentric scoring rings. The target scores 10 points for the inner ring and one point for the outer ring. The yellow rings score 10 and nine points, red rings score eight and seven points, blue rings score six and five points, black rings score four and three points, and the white rings score two points and one point. Missing the target scores zero points.
Recurve archers shoot over a distance of 70 metres at a target face measuring 122 centimetres in diameter, with a 10-ring measuring 12.2 centimetres in diameter.
Compound archers
shoot over a distance of 50 metres at a target face measuring 80
centimetres in diameter, with a 10-ring measuring 8 centimetres in
diameter. The outer four rings of the target face are usually removed,
leaving only the yellow, red and blue rings.
